Some days, no wait, most days call for waterproof makeup. There’s so many things our makeup has to fight against; weather, sweating, rainy days, crying, and best of all - swimming! I’ve always felt confident about these products below - they’ve gotten me through the hardest days of my life while still looking glamorous!
But when I had a photoshoot the other day that took place in a literal milk bath and everything still stayed put. I knew I was ready to make this blog post.

Dior Show Iconic in Waterproof
Let me tell you…this mascara has been through it all! It holds up under stage lights, during big Texas rainstorms (basically tornado weather,) funerals, departing with beloved items (how does Marie Kondo keep it together like that?), and the random jump into Barton Springs on hot summer days. Not only does it stay put, but it makes my lashes look dreamy. They’re long and healthy and often cause people to ask if I’m wearing false lashes and I owe it all to my discovery of this mascara. Even better, it doesn’t flake at all, so it won’t ruin your contacts if you need to add more layers.
Maybelline New York Super Stay
What I love about this lipstick is that is comfortable. It’s not sticky and it doesn’t flake under normal wear-and-tear and the color stays mostly vibrant throughout the day. My lips stay kissable and often I forget that i’m even wearing it! I will admit, it doesn’t last under the grease of a good burger or a yummy taco, but it has lasting power during margaritas and kissing. PRO TIP: Don’t use the gloss on the other end. It causes the pigment to rub off. Once the red liquid dries, it’s really all you need.
M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour Shade (Red Jade)
Everything I wrote about the lipstick above holds true with this lipstick, except this one stays on when I eat tacos. It’s a little bit more expensive, but worth the price when dinner is on the agenda. The color pops and looks pretty with just about any outfit ever - even bathing suits!
Tarteist Pro Lash Adhesive
The problem with most eyelash glue is that it takes far too long to become tacky and if I put the lashes on before the glue is ready, they slip and slide and before I know it, the glue is in my eyes. And the lashes fall off all night AND they’re usually uncomfortable because of it. I’ve ruined a lot of contacts this way and on hot summer days most glue just never gets properly dry. HOWEVER, THIS GLUE IS DA BOMB. I usually only have to wait about 10 seconds, stick those puppies on, and they stay on literally all night (I’ve fallen asleep in them accidentally and they were still totally intact the next morning.)
Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
What I love about this eyeliner is that it’s easy to apply! Not only is it waterproof, sweat proof, tear proof, but the color is nice and pigmented. It’s dark and applies really easily. I know most pro’s prefer the brush and pot method, but this one is really great for on the go also if you just want to be able to touch up without bringing your whole kit.
