When it comes to being a citizen, ignorance is not bliss, because eventually you’ll no longer be ignorant, you’ll be aware, and you’ll be asking yourself “but what can I do?” Complacency is damaging to a society. It’s what has led us here. You cannot expect your government, law enforcement and health care to run how you’d like it to if you are lackadaisical and complacent. The good news? Change is possible and it’s actually easier than you think. So if you are feeling helpless ---> help.
I have created a checklist of action items that I created for myself years ago when I felt helpless. I am by no means an expert. That’s the point. I’m a citizen. Making this list made me a better citizen. It’s a big list, but you don’t have to do it all at once, and some you can’t do all at once. Don’t get overwhelmed, take it item by item as you build better habits as an American Citizen.
You can either jump into the checklist with immediate action items or you can start with re-educating yourself and acquainting yourself with citizenship.
With love and faith in you,
Jolie
And, if you know of something I need to add to any of these lists, tell me. Send me an email or if you know me well, text me if it’s urgent or time sensitive.
