Happy October Everyone!
Things are getting festive and spooky around Goodnight land and I am so excited to share everything with you!
In this month’s “Goodnight Gazette” you’ll find:
A behind the scenes view of how we turned our garage into a Halloween photo studio for the first time! A dream come true for me since one of our GOALS is to use the garage permanently as a photo/video studio that’s affordable for clients and models! And a rehearsal space for music, dance, and burlesque!
Two Halloween freebie downloads so you can surprise your pals
Poetry
A scrumptious recipe I created for Quiche with an Almond Flour Crust
The unreleased song “Take Me To The Moon” used at the beginning and end of my Podcast “Made of Stardust”
And as always, a list of the things your support made possible this month
TAKE A PEEK-A-BOO BEHIND THE SCENES OF OUR NEW HALLOWEEN SET DESIGN!
Click “play” below to see EXCLUSIVE Behind-The-Scenes of the Photo & Video set my Mom and I created for my upcoming Burlesque performance of “Spell on You.” Since shows have been mostly canceled, my burlesque troupe, The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue, are brewing up an Online Virtual Halloween Show that will “air” October 28th.
I’ve been performing “Spell on You” for years and years and years, but thanks to your monthly contributions, the act was able to get an upgrade and update and I’m feeling so thrilled with the results. THANK YOU for your support!
It was also great to spend this time with Mama! We spent an entire day listening to glamorously spooky soundtracks and working hard to transform a normal garage space into a haunted film noire escape! I learned a ton from her in the process about how to make the backdrop look textured and more realistic, how to use green and red paint to age foam headstones, and ways to use moss to give a pop of color.
SOME INSIDER SECRETS FOR YOUR HALLOWEEN DECOR
use green & red paint on foam gravestones to make them look more realistic
glue Spanish moss to foam gravestones too make them look aged
when adding “spiderwebs” really pull the threads out so they look thinner. It will make them look less like cotton and more like really old cobwebs

Some Poetry I wrote….
Lately I’ve been trying to change my mornings a bit. This pandemic has caused me to accidentally try to escape life the moment I wake up, resulting in an immediate phone doom scroll with my morning coffee. This is clearly not a good habit for anyone, and even less so for an artist out of work.
So I did a poll with my followers on Social Media - What do you do in the morning while drinking coffee that has nothing to do with your phone or social media or news?
Sooooo many wonderful answers were shared, some of my favorite, more unusual answers were:
working on a puzzle
listen to vinyl
writing poetry
So I’ve been trying out different suggestions each morning, luxuriating in the different rituals of people in my life. The following poem arrived at me one morning, over coffee, and it was a tremendous help to me as I weave my way through processing grief and finding ways to reclaim my life in ways I imagined it as a little girl.

A Sneak Peek at an Unreleased Song
As you may have seen, your support allowed me to launch my very first podcast! You can read more about it here, but I wanted to share with you the song we used for the intro and outro for the Podcast.
This track is another unreleased song I recorded with my French friend, or really more like family, Fred de Fred, called “Take me To the Moon.” He wrote it, I sang it, and it was immediately clear to me when I created this podcast, that “Take Me To The Moon” was a perfect fit for the vibe and feel I wanted to give listeners tuning in.
