Feeling Grateful for you!

I know people say this, but I actually could not have gotten through the last few months without you & your support. It’s been really rough, to return to the stage, only to have to go back into a quarantine without a stage due to Delta…then to come out of quarantine just to have my weekly show dreams come true, only to have them canceled permanently.

It’s been a tough few months in Jolie land. And I will admit, this just wasn’t something I was particularly built for. So thank you, because your financial support keeps my lights on…but it’s knowing that I have you in my corner that keeps my that beacon of hope light on.

Which is why I wanted to do something really special for you.

Two of my jazz band members, Tim Girardot and Brian Vose, and I got together and recorded a live stream that will be airing soon. But I’m giving you the audio to download and listen to any ol’ time you want to. It’s a lot like having us play in your living room. I wanted to make sure you got something special, something exclusive, something happy. We had so much fun playing music again!

I listened through it last night to make sure everything was perfect and it made me feel so much brighter as I cooked dinner in the kitchen, humming along while I chopped carrots and onions. It’s wise now and then to remember that music has the power to heal, the transform, and to uplift.

I highly recommend playing it while you cooking dinner. xo, Jolie

IN THIS MONTH’S GOODNIGHT GAZETTE YOU’LL FIND:

  • An exclusive audio download of my jazz live stream. My piano player, bass player and I spent the day hanging out and playing songs for a live stream that airs soon. However, I thought my patrons would love to have a downloadable version of this livestream, so you can listen to it whenever you want!

Thanksgiving with the

goodnight + gracey

+ rhodes + Rich family

Click “the right and left arrows” below to see some fun photos from various Thanksgiving moments with my family! This year we are all feeling deeply grateful to be able to spend the fall feast together. Though, I have to say, we made the most of it last year by hopping in the car and delivering fabulously abundant meals to our family and friends!! We filled up baskets with all the nostalgic favorites: turkey, classic sides, and autumnal pies + wrapped up special treats with raffia bows and bottles of wine!

Even if you are able to celebrate turkey day with your loved ones this year, I highly recommend surprising other friends and neighbors with fun goodies on their doorstep! It brought us joy to do so and I know it made the holiday that much more sentimental and sweet. I sell all the graphics in the baskets my in my Etsy shop if you want to take a look —-> Check Out "You've Been Gobbled" Thanksgiving Surprise!

How we plan thanksgiving dinner

I have really fond memories of cozying up mornings the week before Thanksgiving with my parents to plan our glorious dinner. We’d remember all the evergreen essentials that go on the menu, writing each one, recalling what all needs to hit the table for the meal to feel complete and then…then would come the organizer’s dream part - the most glorious, satisfyingly long grocery list. The kind of grocery list that has brine ingredients and spices galore.

And if you know me, you know that list making and organizing are some of my favorite past times.

I would go with my parents to the store, loving grabbing the necessary two huge grocery baskets as we entered Central Market (our local grocery) in all of its holiday-ready glory; the vegetable department full to the brim, chalkboards decorated with autumn fun …. I loved watching the baskets start to fill up: the bags of sweet potatoes , the whole nutmegs rolling around, the spicy sticks of cinnamon, and of course the huge turkey awaiting what is always the cook’s big challenge.

I love being organized. Something about a plan keeps me from feeling overwhelmed, especially during the holidays. And with one oven, it’s important to know what goes into the oven and when.

So, I have this meal planned down to the hour. And I want to share the planner I made with you. Most likely you won’t need every sheet in the planner, so just print what you need and don’t worry about the rest!

Your Contributions this Month Paid For…

And before you head off to your holiday, I wanted to take a moment to remind you this has been an exceptionally tough year & a half, so it's a good time to be gentle with yourself. I highly recommend:

- taking care of your emotional health
- nurture your mental health
- nourish your physical health
- baby your sleep & rest health
- & remember to have fun!

It's a good time of year to seek counseling/therapy, get to your doctor and get a wellness checkup, meditate and practice self care, move your body, and eat mindfully. These are all things I had to get back in touch with recently and I know I'm not alone.

If you need any encouragement please email me. I'm happy to be your cheerleader and give you the resources that have been helping me this month.

I say this because I know sometimes a message like this is all you need to get that appointment made. So from me to you - please take fabulously good care of yourself and your loved ones.

Much love and happy Thanksgiving,
Jolie
