jolie goodnight press kit
Jolie Goodnight is a dynamic jazz singer with a voice that has been described as “a tender voice that could melt a stone heart” (MOJO Magazine). Captivating audiences around the globe, she blends sultry, emotive style with a rich mix of jazz standards, hidden dirty blues gems, and “gripping old soul verve” (Paste Magazine), evoking nostalgia for the glamour of a bygone era.
A native Austinite, born into a showbiz family in Austin, Texas, as the daughter of legendary producer, Joe Gracey and acclaimed singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes, Goodnight was raised in a sweet world of music under the tender love and care of coloring on Willie Nelson’s tour bus, of matching shirts and happy-birthday-answering-machine-messages from Waylon Jennings, and of nights snuggled in a guitar case backstage watching her parents shine on stage. This deep-rooted musical upbringing shaped her extraordinary passion for music and musicians, and her unique sound, blending old hollywood jazz with a fresh perspective described as “a shimmering twist on an instant classic” (Do512.)
Goodnight is an accomplished recording artist, having released two albums and numerous EPs, including her debut album Say Goodnight Gracey, which established her as a significant voice in the jazz world. Her follow-up album, First Time Again, received praise for its heartfelt delivery and innovative arrangements. Her recording collaborations with top-tier musicians such as Mike Thompson (The Eagles), Glen Fukunaga (Joe Ely), Dony Wynn (Robert Plant), and Garth Hudson (The Band) add a distinctive edge to her sound.
A classically trained actress and dancer, Goodnight’s jazz performances are not only about the music—they’re experiences that transport audiences to the smoky cabaret rooms of the past. Bridging the gap between music and cabaret art, she has shared the stage with luminaries like Margo Price, Elvis Costello, Delbert McClinton, and Chris Stapleton, as well as legendary stars of burlesque like Tempest Storm.
Whether performing with her jazz ensemble, Jolie Goodnight & Her Stardust Band, collaborating with renowned artists, or hosting her podcast Made of Stardust, she continues to mesmerize audiences with her impeccable vocal delivery and timeless stage presence. Described as “a beacon in the night” for jazz lovers, Jolie Goodnight is a modern-day chanteuse who honors jazz standards while taking them in exciting new directions.
